The Great Gatsby

Once upon a time, a Korean girl came to New York alone across the Pacific Ocean. The girl got married, had children, and grew older. She, who has lived enough to live in New York, wants to live other worlds across the Atlantic Ocean.

I saw the list of schools in New York to go to study abroad. Adelphi University, which starts first in the alphabet 'A,' was first seen. 'The Great Gatsby,' starring Robert Redford and Mia Farrow, is set in Garden City, Long Island. There is Adelphi University. My heart was overflowing to imagine living in a scene of the beautiful movie. ‘Yes! I’m going to Garden City. That's where I start my new life.’

It was a wedding photo of people in beige dresses and suits, contrasting with black faces, having a party in front of a luxurious house. The roommate pointed to her husband in the picture and said he will come to America soon.

In Garden City, the background of the Great Gatsby starring Robert Redford, I started my life in America with an African chief's daughter! My life was going in a totally different direction from what I had expected.

When I wake up at night to go to the bathroom, the head of a roommate that rolled up with a pink loop was looks like a bumpy as a goblin's. The luster of black faces and contrasting white teeth shone like goblin lighting in the dark.

I couldn't sleep through the night covered with the blanket over my head. She was gentle, intelligent and warm, unlike what I saw at night. She helped me open my bank account by receiving a social number at school. She and I went shopping for my necessities, and helped me with all my hard works. One day, her husband, who I saw in the picture, appeared in a beige suit and we parted.

A Thailand girl my age has become a new roommate. Expectations of an Asian in a similar shape to mine collapsed within a day. This was due to the strong scent of "cilantro. I couldn't stay in the dormitory and wandered around the street because the smell was so disgusting that I could vomit. I sat on the school bench until dusky, walked between the school and the dormitory where I had to come by school bus, and waited for my roommate's dinner to be over.

Anyway, as relieve a hangover, Vietnamese noodle soup is the best. I added a lot of cilantro and spicy sauce. I blew on the hot noodles filled the mouth and drank the soup. The cilantro scent spreads in my mouth and spreads over my body. Thinking of the Great Gatsby of old times.
