No news good news

Every holiday or birthday, people grumble. They are complaining about didn't get the gift, and their daughter-in-law didn't call.

There is also a mother-in-law who is angry that her daughter-in-law sent money on her birthday and did not call. What does she want so much? The daughter-in-law gave birth to a child, but she grumble she didn't get her a gift from the parents-in-law. I can't believe she wants gifts after having a baby because the couple love each other and have baby. People who whine about being disappointed in others usually do not give a favor to a person.

Before the existence of daughter-in-law and mother-in-law, they were also human beings. Therefore, there is no reason to tolerate someone who makes someone unhappy and difficult.

These days, both mother-in-law and daughter-in-law are busy working and socializing. we have got plenty to eat, and the house is full of things. What do we want to eat more and buy more? If someone complains that someone didn't take care of someone, you and your family will suffer both materially and psychologically. Isn't it a gift and consideration to let each other live, as they want to live freely?

The way for my family and I is to love myself and live busy without thinking of receiving love and attention from anyone. I might have my daughter-in-law someday. I can't be sure that my children who only works without thinking about getting married, but I don't mind if they get married or not. It is filial piety to just live healthy and happy, as they like.

“Mom, it is thanksgiving. Shall we go?”
Asks the question. The meaning of the question means busy. I can't tell busy children to come. "We've been patient and careful not to meet. Let's skip this thanksgiving. Let's meet after getting a shot. I hear that a virus preventive drug came out.”
"Mom, don't you miss me?"
“I want to see you, but what if you come to see me and get a virus?”
“Do you need anything?”
“Nothing is needed. Thanks for calling.”

I've been very busy at your age, too. I fully understand it. I had been busy dating and hanging out with friends. If I want to see you, I live close by where I can run right now. But actually, I'm also busy too.

The heart is a loney hunter

It's before four in the morning. I guess the kimbap I ate last night have an upset stomach. I'll go out for a walk to the park if it's bright, but it's dark. For me, walking is not only a panacea but also gives me joy and comfort in chaos. But what if I go to the park too early and meet the masked robber?

I stood by the window holding a cup of coffee. All six windows of an apartment building across the street are bright. The lights are always on even though there are no signs of human life day and night. Maybe the resident forgot and took refuge in a country house to avoid Covid19? Still, haven't come back this long! I am very curious.

Even on the same floor where I live, people who left in mid-March didn't return until September. However, the couple living in the unit on the right still has not returned. They may had come to take some thick clothes and she put a bag of apples that she picked from a field at the my door and said, “I will come again.
"Take care of yourself."
she left a note saying, and left again.

As soon as the day dawned, I hurried to the park. Commonly seen on the Namsan promenade in Seoul an Asian woman in her clothes walks in front of me. She was heavily armed with a mask, gloves and hat. She was walking diligently with a Korean woman's peculiar gait and she takes a closer look at the flowers blooming along the promenade.
'Why is my sister over there?'
I approached without knowing. At the sound of the approaching, she hurried to step away as if avoiding. Oh, no!

Forty years have passed since I left Korea, but sometimes I am mistaken for being in a landscape of Seoul. Suddenly, calm sadness came. I guess I saw phantom thing as I continued living in isolation as if I was trapped on a remote island without human contact due to the excuse of a coronavirus. Yellow leaves are falling down like they welcome me. I looked up at the thick forest. As if the lights are on, the park is bright. I pick up a leaf lying on the floor to put in a bookmark I borrowed from a friend. Trees, rivers, squirrels, and pigeons remain the same as they used to be. If nature is healthy, a good day will soon come.

Many people are going through a hard time this year. It may seem as if the world is at its end, but the world keeps spinning and good days come. If we persevere with hope, one day we will celebrate that the world is not over. I see the high ground over there.

Being alive is good luck and the ability to persevere is a gift.

Aristophanes' hiccups

“Play Na Hoon-a’s ‘Mr. Tes’ song.” My husband's urging me “Your favorite song is different from what I like. All of his tunes are the same.” I don't want to hear the song but I don't want to ruin my dinner table with my husband, I held back and played the song on YouTube. 'I am grateful for today to come anyway, I am afraid of tomorrow also coming anyway. Ah! Mr. Tes, why is it so hard to live on, Why so hard Ah! Mr. Socrates, why is it so hard to fall in love.’

"It's a song called Mr. Tes, the lyrics are so good. Listen.” A friend sent me a video via KakaoTalk. I erased it as soon as I received it. Wow! It's annoying. Why is everyone asking me to listen to a song called Mr. Tes? At the moment, did I ever read a book about Socrates? At least Na Hoon-a read the book, so wouldn't he have written the lyrics of the song?

Whenever I watch a big black piano that occupies a living room in each house, the children quickly avoid around the piano, because they are afraid that their mother will tell them to practice the piano. I also didn't want to read a book about Socrates as if children were avoiding the piano. In the end, only after the song Mr. Tes was released, I start read the ‘Plato's dialogue, Socrates' Excuse. Krypton.Phaidon.Feast. The book beginning with ‘Athens People’ overturned my expectations and the pages of the book turned over easily.

Alcibiades, who was a disciple of Socrates and was rumored to have been in a relationship, said that "whenever I hear Socrates' words, I feel like an inspired of god, my heart is pounding like crazy, and tears flow down. If I’m sitting next to him, I won't die of a natural death" But for me, the book is difficult to capture Socrates' idea of philosophy only through dialogue without leaving any writing.

At the Feast, Socrates and his friends gathered at a drinking party talk about Eros one by one. It was the turn of Aristophanes, who said that Eros was a desire to find his half and achieve perfection. 'He is the next in line to speak, but he is undergoing an attack of the hiccups and is unable to speak. He asks Eryximachus, the doctor, to speak in his place. Eryximachus agrees to make a speech now so that Aristophanes can speak afterward, when his hiccups are gone and he said to Aristophanes, you've been holding your breath for a while. If that doesn't stop, keep water in your mouth and rinse your mouth. When hiccups are severe, take something to tickle your nose and sneeze.'

As I blaming myself for remembering only the comical part about hiccups the moment I closed the book, I barely finished the ‘Socrates’ Excuse.Krypton.Phaidon.Feast,’ as if doing homework.
