하지만 시티뱅크의 어느 친절한 여자가 나를 안심시키며 7년 동안 크레딧 프리즈를 (freeze credit all 3 bureaus; Equifax, TransUnion, and Experian) 해줬다.

Credit Freeze

 "Did you freeze the credit?"
I was talking about credits with a friend and I asked.
"Credit Freeze? What's that?"
I was surprised to hear that my friend didn't know, and my kkondae temperament was activated. “It’s important to build credit, but it’s also important to manage your credit and assets so you don’t lose them.”
“Good information. Write it in the newspaper and let people know.”
A friend gave me material to write in the newspaper, so I dare to write it.

I bought a blunt, bloat computer a long time ago when computers slowly came into the house. After using it for a few years, when a fancy computer came out, I put the old computer out in front of my house on the day it was trashed. As soon as I threw it away, I realized that the computer contained important information besides my tax return and ran outside. Someone has already taken it.

I stayed up all night with my eyes wide open. Early the next morning, I called every bank I did business with. The banks responded dryly, with no sign of helping. But a friendly woman at Citibank reassured me and gave me a credit freeze (freeze credit all 3 bureaus; Equifax, TransUnion, and Experian) for 7 years. Seven years later, I again placed a permanent freeze in which no one could access even if all four of my family's identities were stolen. Keep the password well, release it if necessary, and then can freeze it again. it's free.

Go to www.annualcreditreport.com and go to each of the three companies Equifax, TransUnion, and Experian and ask them to delete unknown reports from your credit history. And freeze it. You have to do each of the three separately It does not take much time. You can do it over the phone. It used to be free once a year. However, I heard from a friend who did credit freeze recently that fraudsters to flood because of the Covid-19 has caused, allowing them to go in once a week for free.

If all three companies do a credit freeze, since you are contacted directly, it becomes impossible for someone else to open a credit card or take a loan.

My credit score suddenly dropped one day. Surprised as if it were on fire, I called and asked if my credit information had been stolen.
“Your credit is already frozen, so what are you worried about it? Rest assured.”

The procedure sounds complicated, but it is very simple. If you do it once, you can spend your life comfortably as if half of your hard life has been solved.

The husband who return

"Do one have to go to the mountains to cultivate oneself spiritually? It's no different to engross in artworks without meeting anyone. In the past, a lot of your temper that used to be so annoyed and twisted had died. Is it because of a pandemic or is it that you are getting old!”

This is what I said to my husband, an artist who has been a weekend couple at the Green Point, Brooklyn Studio for more than a year as a pandemic. He commutes from our Manhattan home after receiving the vaccine. Contrary to the old saying, 'The habit of three years old goes up to eighty', my husband has changed little by little better. He must have tried to live a good life in his chosen marriage with responsibility, but as he has been constantly circling in his own world for a long time without any miscellaneous thoughts wouldn't he have cultivated himself spiritually in his own way?

Most husbands listen half-heartedly when their wives speak. The fact that I expressed my dissatisfaction with my husband in writing through newspapers also seems to have contributed to his change for the better. Thanks to JoongAng Ilbo for providing the space to write.

It was afraid to take the subway due to the pandemic, so the weekend couple was also effective. It must have been hard for him to cook three meals a day. My grown-up husband cleans the house on weekends. If I don't want to cook, He brings food from the restaurant. He pulls shopping cart and does some grocery shopping in Chinatown. He eats the food I serve without complaining. The habit of asking for this and that in front of the table disappears and takes care of it on his own.

Not only that, like these days, when we are afraid to travel far, we go to the places we want to go among the places the train goes. We alternately take the Metro-North Railroad, the Hudson line (which runs along the Hudson River), the Harlem line (which runs in hopes of meeting the lake), and the New haven line (which runs along the beach) from the Harlem stop on the 125. We once took a bus from Penn Station to Catskill to the mountains and lakes.

We eat brunch near the arrival station and look around for the waterfront and downtown. We walk about seven miles. We are getting some fresh air, exercising, looking around. Just like if we don't walk around diligently when our legs are strong, we'll lose money.

Oddly enough, I feel frustrated when there are no rivers, lakes, or seas nearby. Perhaps I was a small-in-stature fish in my previous life.

Apology monologue

I apologize before more time goes by. I couldn't say anything of comfort when I heard that your husband died. I just couldn't open my mouth. I made an excuse to myself that I was silent because it was so sad that I couldn't put it into words. If I have to add, it is like that I am speechless and teary with unexpected help. But in my head,
"How hard would it be? How are you doing?"
I thought about you engulfed in sorrow

It reminded me of a story my senior told me a long time ago when his wife was ill with cancer.
"I appreciate those who come to see me, but I have a hard time taking care of my sick wife and treating those who come to see me. I just want them to leave me alone. And they've been bringing food on the way to see me. I can't say it's delicious even though I was enjoyed it. I'm afraid they'll bring another dish again. Can you understand how I feel when I can't say thank them?"

Even when my friend lost her son over 30-year-old, I couldn't say anything looking up at the sky. I tried not to show my tears to my friend, avoiding the eyes of my friend who was crying. Fortunately, the sun went down and it got dark, so my friend couldn't see my tears. If an elderly parent has passed away, I can console her. However, my honest confession is that I did not have the energy or courage to comfort those who lost their husbands and children. I feel sorry.

Even if you think of me as a harsh human being, I have nothing to say. I was embarrassed at myself because I have a habit of keeping my mouth shut when it's too sad a thing happens. Although I have lived in the United States for many years, it is still unfamiliar to me to see people express their feelings from moment to moment.

Last week we had the opportunity to meet at a meeting. Before we met, I was dressed in black and looked in the mirror. And I murmured words of consolation to you. Then I changed into a grayish dress. I turned my gaze away from you for not being able to give you words of consolation. In most cases, I was able to cheer up the people around me, but I remained silent again, confident that no words would be of any comfort to those who lost their husbands or children. I feel sorry.

I sincerely hope that time will heal your wounds of parting.
