Following the waves

I lived as carefully and tired as the Covid patient. I started roaming around when the atmosphere of Covid stopping down. Why do I want to wander along with the wind in the mountains, fields, and seas?

Instead of swimming in the sea, I looked around and run in place. It's to lose belly fat. It works better than Zumba dance. Even after getting out of the water, look around. If there is nothing to see, lie down and sunbathe.

Of course, have no Iceboxes, sunshades, and chairs. Freezing water, simple snacks, and rugs are enough to enjoy. It is also interesting to look around and observe people around. Most people, regardless of gender, showed their bellies as big as a basketball. Just like beans sprouting in a drought, people in good shape stand out. they are also intelligent and attractive.

The fat man and woman who carried their belongings as if moving things were struggling to put up a tent with a pillar near me. A tent large enough to hold a wedding banquet was erected. Even though I've been to the beach countless times, I've never seen anything with such a high ceiling and grandeur. The men and women sat down in a chair and ate something from a large icebox. They went into the water and not long after they came out, they looked at each other and grumbled, then they whined and again tear down the tent. I looked at the back of the two of them who dragging their heavy luggage, with an absurd expression.

A couple with their young daughter started pitching a round tent where the huge tent had left. The tent was spread out and a long iron rod was placed on it in a cross shape. When the unfolded tent is scattered in the wind, unfold it again and repeat. They try to put a long iron rod here and there, but the tent shape doesn't come out. The woman got angry while helping the man and quickly pulled out all the sticks, saying she would do it alone. She repeatedly put it in and out, but it didn't come out. The child insisted on going into the seawater. After sweating for a long time, the tent was finally built.

A young lady wearing only her bikini panties and not wearing a top was in and out of the water with her nude fluffy breasts. Her attitude is such that it makes no sense to cover up her gorgeous body with her clothes. I looked at the woman's behavior with envy, because she thought she would be disappointed if I didn't look at her. If I have a body like that, I want to follow her.

I turned my head to see the recent status of the couple who had been arguing while pitching the tent. There is no man. After some time, I didn't see a man until I left. Are there only women and children left? The bitter image of the two remaining mothers and daughters does not leave my head.

Good for you and good for me

"Wow! This photo is cool. How did you capture such a wonderful moment?”
I asked a friend who is a photographer.
“It was a present moment before thinking.”
"You mean the state of absence of ego? or the state of vacant?”
“No, A state of not thinking.”

It is not a colorful or shady photo that poses like a handmaid with a camera the size of a cannon as instructed by the photographer. It is also not a photo taken by adjusting the overall screen while putting in something to put and taking out something to take out. Anytime, anywhere, when I look at her photos taken with an iPhone, the tension is relieved, the complexity is simplified, and the chill is getting warm.

"Do you have any thinking or not? You have to think and act."
When I was young, I constantly tried to think with the scolding of people around me. But does she mean I should train myself not to think now?

A friend and I during the week whenever we have time and go from place to place by car. It runs like a horse unbridled, then stops where we want to stop and looks around. We wander aimlessly towards the beach, mountains, lakes, and green meadows. If there is a good place, I brought simple toiletries so that I could stay overnight. we don't care if we get lost because we want to run into something unexpected with no plans or reservations. When we're hungry, sit at a table by the roadside of the restaurant, fill the stomach, and stupidly watch the people walking by. We drank as much wine as they were given by the winery, and gibberish staring at each other while being intoxicated.

While my friend was immersed in ‘before thoughts’ as she watched the rippling waves, I looked at the floating clouds and remembered the words about the death of Vietnamese monk Thich Nhat Hanh.
'Ask the cloud.
“When is your date of birth? Where were you before you were born?”
Clouds were water on the surface of the ocean before they were born. Or it was a river and it became steam. It was also the sun because it makes steam. The wind is there too, helping the water turn into clouds. Clouds will turn into rain or snow or ice. Clouds are not lost. The rain becomes the grass, the grass becomes the cow and the milk, the milk becomes the ice cream.'

Our wondering truth-seeks, both good for her and good for me, float like clouds, like water, like the wind. The waves on her iPhone resemble clouds. Clouds resemble ice cream.
“Friend, let’s go eat ice cream.”

What's wrong with you?

"Sooim, why do you suddenly lose your temper when you were doing so well? All the good you've done becomes meaningless."
This harsh voice from adults is still stuck in my head. Because of that, I always try to be careful. But sometimes, there’s no need to be so careful.

"This is just the way I am. So don’t mess with me. If you don’t bother me, I won’t get angry. Have I ever asked you for anything? No, right? Then please just leave me alone!”

In the U.S., everyone is busy dealing with their own lives. Some people always ask others for help instead of solving problems themselves. They just want to save time and money. If they are wondering who to ask around you, and then one person is chosen, they will hop on board as if they were sneaking a spoon into someone else's table or as if they were free-riding. If you help once, they come back again with another favor. They’re good at jumping in at the right moment, but they don’t seem to care—or notice—when others are uncomfortable. Maybe they just don’t care.

I didn’t even try to be polite or explain. I just exploded. Then they acted like I was the crazy one—like they were calm and kind, and I was overreacting.

But I thought, "So what if I act crazy? So what if people talk bad about me?"
I felt so much better. No regret. Finally, that clingy person was gone.

Some people call me early in the morning or visit for days asking for help, but I never get mad at them. Why? Because they’re different. They’re respectful and careful not to cause trouble for others. They only ask for help after trying hard to solve things themselves. When I help those kinds of people, I even get excited to support them. I lose sleep thinking about how to help. They have a good reputation—like having good credit at the bank. When I help them, even if I get tired or stressed, my heart feels light. And while helping them, I also learn useful things.

Someone once said: "If you want to get rid of someone, ask them to lend you money."
But I never talk about money with anyone except the bank. So I just lost my temper instead—and now that person doesn’t dare to call again. But then—he did. They came back, acting like “You’re mean, but I’m a good person, so I forgive you.”

Oh my God! They are so persistent. Did they eat boiled wild roots or something?!I was so shocked and annoyed—I couldn’t even say a word.

Small Claims

I opened the refrigerator door. Oh, my God! I'm surprised it is black as if looking into a chimney.

During difficult times, the refrigerator broke down. I couldn't afford to buy a new refrigerator. I searched the local newspaper and called a refrigerator fixer. And I gave it to him in cash. After three or four hours, when I opened the refrigerator door, the internal plastic was dripping like melted cheese with a foul smell. It was like looking into a dark cave. I immediately called the repairman and screamed.
“I can't pay for the refrigerator and can't pay for the repairs money. why don't you sue me for small claims."
It's a tone of voice asking if you, an Asian who can't speak English well, dare to sue me. It was a cruel voice that laughed as if it was natural for the weak to be eaten by the strong. I shuddered as I heard the phone moan.

I enjoy watching Judge Judy's less than $5,000 civil litigation program, which airs on Channel 2 at 4 pm. The case she deals with is almost the same. Most of the lawsuits were filed by car accidents, dog bites, cases of not receiving lent money, lawsuits against tenants and landlords due to rent, and lawsuits against home repair contractors.

At 4 pm, my body, which has been busy since morning, is exhausted. After listening to Judge Judy's questions and the answers of her plaintiffs and defendants, I judge right and wrong on my own while she renders her verdict. A fair and transparent judgment like Judge Judy's blade that anyone can agree to, blows away my tiredness in one shot.

She throws questions at the wrong person. If a lie is found in the process of questioning, the lawsuit is lost. In the case of a car accident, drivers without insurance will lose unconditionally. If a person makes excuses and lies to a question that can be answered simply with yes or no, will be sent off.

Watching this program, I am often surprised that the world is not the world I imagined, there are so many people with so many different thoughts and actions.

Life seems complicated, but it is very simple. As long as you follow the law, you don't cause many problems. Money should never be loaned out. The rent must be paid on time, and the landlord must also return the deposit money. Don't pay in cash, pay by check or credit card with proof. Don't verbalize your work, date and sign it on paper as evidence. However, no matter how careful, there will be people who break in and do fraudulent activities.

Watching Judge Judy's program, I organize my life so that I don't flounder in confusion because my life is tangled. The less I have, the less I have to worry about, and the more freedom.
